Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has announced the suspension of a naval operation referred to as the “Freedom Project” in the Strait of Hormuz just one day after its launch, stating that the decision was made in consultation with Pakistan and aimed at advancing negotiations with Iran. At the same time, Marco Rubio told reporters at the White House that the “offensive phase of the war with Iran has ended,” adding that Trump is now seeking to reach an agreement with Tehran, particularly concerning the Strait of Hormuz. According to Bakhtar News Agency, citing BBC, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the “Khatam al-Anbiya” Headquarters—considered the country’s central war command—have issued a statement rejecting claims by the United Arab Emirates regarding Iranian rocket and drone attacks on its territory. The continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its economic consequences, along with ongoing regional tensions, have been cited as factors prompting the United States to reconsider its aggressive approach. Some analysts believe this shift could create conditions for the resumption of talks between Washington and Tehran.
