Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Monday, during a meeting with Abbas Araghchi in Saint Petersburg, that Moscow will make “every possible effort” to help restore peace in the Middle East. Putin emphasized that Russia is prepared to act within the framework of Iran’s interests, as well as those of all peoples in the region, in order to facilitate the swift realization of peace. Meanwhile, according to TASS, Iran’s foreign minister criticized Washington’s role in the failure of peace negotiations in Pakistan. The Russian president also reaffirmed the continuation of strategic relations between Moscow and Tehran, adding that, in his view, the Iranian people are courageously striving to preserve their independence.
