Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has arrived in Saint Petersburg following the conclusion of his visit to Islamabad, as part of his ongoing diplomatic tour. According to Iranian media outlets, including Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi is expected to hold talks with Vladimir Putin during this visit. The meeting is described as part of continued political consultations at both regional and international levels. The trip comes after Araghchi held discussions with senior officials in Pakistan and Muscat. Meanwhile, reports indicate that Tehran has conveyed messages to Washington, D.C. through intermediaries, though there are no clear signs of direct negotiations between the two sides. In a related development, the U.S.-based outlet Axios reported that Iran has presented a three-phase proposal to the United States, although further details have not been disclosed. Separately, Donald Trump recently stated that if Iran seeks negotiations, it can directly contact Washington. His remarks come as prospects for renewed talks between the two countries remain uncertain.
