Pakistan Resumes Operations in Afghanistan Following End of Ceasefire

Tahir Andarabi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, announced that following the end of the temporary Eid al-Fitr ceasefire, Pakistan has resumed its “Ghazzab al-Haq” operations targeting terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday 26 March, Andarabi said the operations are being conducted in a “targeted” manner, focusing specifically on militant hideouts. He added that the temporary ceasefire declared for Eid al-Fitr has now ended and the operations have restarted. According to reports, Pakistani strikes on these targets began on 27 February 2026 in various parts of Afghanistan but were temporarily suspended during the Eid celebrations. The attacks have targeted positions of the Taliban and affiliated groups in several provinces, resulting in reported casualties.
