China will construct nine border facilities along the frontier between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, according to reports. The Central Asian news agency QNA Central Asia said Tajikistan’s parliament approved the agreement on Thursday. According to the parliamentary newspaper Sadoi Mardum, the project aims to strengthen the technical and logistical capabilities of Tajikistan’s border forces. The facilities will include buildings equipped with modern equipment, surveillance systems, communication tools, and engineering infrastructure. The installations will cover an area of about 17,000 square meters, with an estimated cost of 425 million Chinese yuan. Muradali Rajabzoda said the funding will be provided free of charge by the Chinese government.
