KABUL: Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) under the Taliban control, has signed contracts for five electricity production projects with a total capacity of 845 megawatts with the private company Azizi Energy. These contracts were signed today in the presence of Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Economic Deputy Prime Minister of the Taliban, in Kabul. According to the agreements, 100 megawatts of solar power will be produced in Naghlu (Kabul) and Barikab (Parwan), 130 megawatts of solar power will be generated in Ghazni, 165 megawatts in Takhar and 350 megawatts of coal-based electricity will be produced in Baghlan. The office of the Taliban deputy prime minister for Economic Affairs has announced that approximately $463 million will be invested in these projects, with solar electricity projects expected to be completed within two years and coal-based projects in three years. Previously, the Taliban had also announced a $10 billion contract for the production, distribution, and transmission of 10,000 megawatts of electricity with Azizi Energy.
