KABUL: Wahidullah Najand, an Afghan athlete, has been recognized as the Athlete of the Year by the International Octagon Organization. In an interview with reporters, Najand expressed that he had been nominated for the title of the best fighter of the organization and ultimately succeeded in securing this award. He credited the support of the Afghan people as a significant factor in this achievement, noting that his technical performance caught the attention of the Octagon officials. Najand stated that the trophy and the Athlete of the Year award from the Octagon organization will be presented to him soon. To date, Najand has recorded 10 victories in his professional career, including three wins in competitions organized by the prestigious Octagon organization.
