BERLIN: German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt has announced that technical discussions are ongoing with Taliban representatives regarding the deportation of Afghan refugees deemed “criminal.” According to German media, Dobrindt stated that the negotiations aim to establish a systematic framework for the deportation process. The technical talks between German officials and Taliban representatives are in Doha, Qatar. While some unconfirmed reports suggest that German diplomats may also travel to Kabul for this purpose, the German Foreign Minister, Jan Wadfool, has indicated that a delegation visit to Kabul is not deemed necessary. In July, Germany deported 81 Afghan nationals to Kabul, claiming that they had criminal records. Following this, the country also accepted two Taliban diplomats in Berlin and Bonn.
