ASADABAD: Local sources and residents in Kunar province report that people in certain areas are facing severe hunger, with no assistance having arrived so far. According to sources, residents of the Nurgal district and the Mazar Dara area are encountering serious challenges. They state that no food supplies have reached these regions yet. A local health worker told the media, “Currently, there are no food resources available. People are wandering in search of a single meal, and there is a fear that if help does not arrive soon, many will lose their lives due to hunger.” Sources emphasize that if initial aid is not provided promptly and access routes remain blocked, a further disaster may occur due to the lack of resources. So far, Taliban officials have not commented on these claims.
