HERAT: In the past three days, at least four people have been killed in the provinces of Herat and Badghis. Local sources in Herat report that Abdul Rasool Jamshidi, a village chief from Yek Darakht in the Rabat-e-Sangi district, succumbed to his injuries after being shot three days ago. He was targeted by armed motorcyclists outside his home and died after three days of treatment at the central hospital in Herat. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and Taliban officials in Herat have not commented on the incident. In another incident, a shepherd was killed by armed robbers in the “Kheikhon” village of the Shindand district, and his livestock was stolen. Additionally, sources in Badghis have reported that the Taliban executed a young man by firing squad in the city of Qala-e-Naw on Saturday night. The reason for this execution is not specified. Previously, the Taliban had also killed another young man in the Qadis district on charges of being a member of ISIS, along with one of their own fighters on similar accusations.
