TEHRAN: The public relations office of the Quds Force of the Ground Forces of the IRGC has issued a statement confirming that at least six people lost their lives and 22 others were injured in the armed attack on the courthouse in Zahedan on Saturday morning.
The statement noted that most of the victims were ordinary citizens, including a woman and a child among the deceased. Reports indicate that armed individuals initially entered the courthouse on Azadi Street in Zahedan and opened fire in the judges’ offices. A second wave of the attack involved heavy weaponry, such as mortars and grenade launchers, targeting security forces. Local sources reported that the clashes began around 8:50 AM, with sounds of gunfire and explosions heard in the vicinity. Witnesses described thick smoke and a heavy security presence in the area. The group “Jaish al-Adl” claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement, declaring that the operation “Insaaf-e Bask” was conducted to “counter the oppression of the judicial system against the Baluch citizens.” The IRGC statement also mentioned that three of the attackers, wearing suicide vests, were killed by security forces.
