Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US special envoy for Afghanistan, says Pakistan is facing a crisis of trust in addition to its political, economic and security challenges.
Referring to an Ipsos poll, Khalilzad said between 76% and 89% of Pakistanis believe their country is heading in the wrong direction.
He warned that ignoring public opinion would be a serious mistake and said Pakistan needs to change course to overcome its current challenges.
