Manzoor Pashteen, leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), has accused Punjab’s military and political leadership of being behind various cases of violence, insecurity and alleged abuses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Pashteen made the remarks in response to recent comments by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. He alleged that Punjab’s generals and politicians were responsible for mass killings of Pashtuns, enforced disappearances, the alleged exploitation of natural resources and the imprisonment of political leaders.
He further claimed that the Pakistani military had devastated areas inhabited by Pashtuns, Baloch, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Saraikis and people from Gilgit-Baltistan, while exploiting their natural resources.
