US President Donald Trump says Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have both assured him that they will not sell weapons to Iran, amid growing speculation over possible Russian support for Iranian attacks on US targets in the region, including reported strikes against CIA facilities. In a post on Truth Social on Friday,Trump said President Xi had made the commitment during their recent meeting in Beijing. “President Xi told me that under no circumstances would China sell or provide weapons to Iran, and that commitment also applies to Chinese companies,”Trump wrote. Trump added that President Putin had given him a similar assurance. The US president also addressed American military support for Ukraine, saying the United States does not sell weapons directly to Kyiv but instead supplies them to NATO member states. “They pay the full price for those weapons,”Trump wrote. “I have no idea what they do with them afterwards.”
