US President Donald Trump has said Iran has been “severely damaged” militarily, claiming that much of the country’s military capability has been destroyed. Trump said Iran had “lost almost everything”, adding that it still had some missiles, drones and a limited ability to produce military equipment, but “not much”. Referring to the latest US retaliatory strikes on targets in Iran early on Monday local time, Trump said: “Tonight we struck them very hard again, and we did this in honour of those two, or perhaps three, great patriots.” The US president was referring to American service members who were killed or reported missing during recent Iranian attacks. Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Sunday that another US service member was killed and another injured in northern Iraq while carrying out operations to destroy unexploded explosives left from an Iranian drone attack on Saturday.
