U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Ukraine and Russia are seeking to reach an agreement and resolve the conflict, adding that a positive development in the war could happen soon. Mr Trump said he had held “very good talks” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking about relations between Washington and Ankara, Mr Trump described Turkey as a “great ally” of the United States and said he had no concerns about Turkey obtaining F-35 fighter jets. The U.S. president also criticised his Western allies, saying that when the United States became involved in the conflict with Iran, the NATO alliance had “disappointed” him.
