Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has confirmed that Pakistani troops are already stationed in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking in an interview with CNN, Chaudhry said Pakistani forces had been present in the kingdom for decades and operated across multiple capabilities and domains.

He said the longstanding defence relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, along with ties with Türkiye, was not a recent development. He added that the Makkah Defence Agreement had formalised existing diplomatic, political and military relations among the three countries.

His comments come after Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye agreed to implement their collective defence commitments and facilitate the rapid deployment of agreed military forces and capabilities in Saudi Arabia.
