Portuguese journalist Rui Santos has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo has lost faith in Jorge Jesus following a disagreement and does not intend to return to the Portugal national team while the coach remains in charge.
Speaking to CNN Portugal, Santos said Ronaldo was angry over the situation and had decided not to return to the national team for as long as Jesus continued to lead the coaching staff.
The comments come after Jesus expressed hope that Ronaldo could return next month, saying the Al-Nassr forward would be welcomed back if he decided to rejoin the national team.
According to Santos, Ronaldo’s frustration goes beyond his disagreement with the coach. He is also unhappy with how the matter has been handled, particularly with Jesus’s public comments.
However, Santos’s remarks remain claims by the journalist, and Ronaldo has not officially confirmed that he intends to stay away from the Portugal national team.
