Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced a change to the route of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protest march, saying it will head towards Khyber before proceeding to Peshawar.
Speaking to protesters at University Chowk in Kohat on Tuesday, Afridi said the change was part of the party’s strategy.
“We are playing a Test match; there are still many overs and players left,” he said.
Afridi also referred to the decision to postpone the march from 27 September to 4 October, saying the authorities had reacted strongly to the delay and were now concerned about how long the protest would continue.
The march is demanding the release of former Pakistani prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, who has been in prison since 2023.
