Ariana Afghan Airlines says it has ended its reliance on Pakistani company Zapways for its ticketing system, operational systems and website after about 15 years.
The airline said Zapways had managed parts of its systems during that period while charging high fees. It also said technical information and details related to the systems had been held by the Pakistani company.
Ariana said it has now developed a new system and a modern, standardised website at a lower cost, which will be managed independently.
The airline said the move was aimed at increasing the independence of its online systems, strengthening its technical capacity and improving services for passengers and travel companies
