Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his support for Argentina’s national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final. According to Reuters, Shimon Axel Wahnish, Argentina’s ambassador to Israel, presented Netanyahu with an official Argentina team shirt and played an audio message from Argentine President Javier Milei, in which he thanked the Israeli prime minister for his support. Netanyahu said he was not hiding his support for Argentina and added that many Israelis shared the same sentiment. He also wished the team success in the final. Argentina are set to face Spain in the 2026 World Cup final on Sunday, 19 July.
