Iran’s military has said it targeted two key US bases in Kuwait with attack drones in response to what it described as recent American strikes on Iranian territory. In a statement, Iran’s military said that, during the 16th phase of an operation named “Saegheh” (Lightning), the Ali Al Salem and Al Adairi bases in Kuwait were targeted by a “large number of explosive drones”. The Iranian military claimed that the strikes had disrupted operations at Al Adairi base, which it said plays a significant role in supporting US military activities in the region. Meanwhile, Kuwait’s military has not, unlike previous days, reported any activation of warning sirens or air defence systems following the claimed attacks.
