The UK government says it will introduce overnight restrictions on social media use for teenagers as part of efforts to improve online safety for young people. According to British media reports, access to apps including Instagram, TikTok and YouTube will be disabled by default for users aged 16 and 17 between midnight and 6am. The measure forms part of a broader package of policies being developed by the government in partnership with technology companies to strengthen online protections for children and teenagers.
