Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says the Strait of Hormuz has been temporarily closed until further notice, with no vessels allowed to pass through the strategic waterway. According to Iranian media reports, the IRGC Navy said some vessels had ignored warnings and moved away from designated routes. It said one ship was stopped after warning shots were fired. The IRGC said maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz would remain restricted until what it described as “US interference” in the region comes to an end. It also warned that any further action or attack would face a “decisive response”.
