Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that the so-called “Islamabad Accord” has played a positive role in reducing tensions across the region and preventing further escalation of conflicts. Speaking during a meeting in Istanbul with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Erdoğan said Türkiye supports all diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving crises and promoting regional stability. However, he also warned against actions he described as provocative, including those attributed to Israel, saying such steps risk undermining fragile peace efforts. The Turkish president stressed the importance of creating a secure environment in which all people in the region can live peacefully, regardless of religion or belief. For his part, the Pakistani prime minister highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye in areas including trade, energy, defence, technology, and investment. He also reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only sustainable path to resolving international disputes.
