Trump: Attack on ship in the Strait of Hormuz is a violation of the ceasefire by Iran

US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of involvement in an attack on a cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, describing it as a violation of a ceasefire agreement. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that the Islamic Republic of Iran launched at least four suicide drones toward vessels transiting the strategic waterway. He said one of the drones struck the upper deck of a large and “very expensive” cargo ship, causing damage, though the vessel was able to continue its voyage. Trump also stated that US forces intercepted and shot down three other drones before they reached their targets. He described the incident as a “clear and foolish violation of our ceasefire agreement.” Earlier, US officials told media outlets that Iran was responsible for the attack. Iranian authorities have not yet issued an official response to the allegations.
