U.S. President Donald Trump will only accept a potential agreement with Iran if it complies with what he describes as U.S. red lines, according to a report by Agence France-Presse (AFP). AFP reported that U.S. officials have warned that the United States retains the capability to resume military action against Iran if necessary. The officials said that any prospective agreement with Tehran remains subject to Trump’s final approval. According to the report, Trump would only support a deal that he believes is in the interests of the United States and prevents Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington possesses the full capability to restart military operations should circumstances require it. At the same time, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that American forces remain deployed across the region and are on alert.
