President Donald Trump says US and Iranian representatives have held “very good negotiations” and that reaching an agreement between the two countries appears “highly likely.” Iran, meanwhile, says the US proposal is still under review and that its response will be delivered through Pakistani mediators after consultations are finalized. The remarks come after Trump announced the temporary suspension of the Strait of Hormuz Freedom Project, saying the move was made at Pakistan’s request to allow more time for a possible agreement to be finalized. Trump also claimed the United States had achieved “major success” in what he described as a military campaign against Iran, while stressing that the naval blockade of Iran’s ports would continue.
