Hamdullah Fitrat said that at least three people were killed and 14 others injured following recent Pakistani strikes on Dangam district in Kunar province. According to him, most of the victims were women and children. He said the attacks targeted parts of residential areas, damaging civilian homes, mosques, schools and a health centre. Based on the information provided, two schools, two mosques and one health facility were destroyed, and around 80 livestock were also killed. In recent days, Kunar province has seen rocket and air strikes by Pakistan. Similar attacks had previously been reported in several areas, including near Kunar University and other districts, causing casualties and damage. In response, the Taliban summoned Pakistan’s chargé d’affaires in Kabul and lodged a protest. Pakistani officials, meanwhile, said the strikes were carried out in response to security threats originating from Afghan territory.
