Donald Trump has announced the cancellation of his representatives’ planned trip to Islamabad for talks with Iranian officials. In a message posted on Truth Social, he stated that considerable time had already been spent on arranging the visit and that substantial work had been done. Trump further claimed that there are “serious divisions and confusion” within Iran’s leadership, adding that “no one knows who is in charge, not even themselves.” He also asserted that the United States holds “all the cards,” while Iran “has none.” The U.S. president emphasized that if Iran seeks negotiations, it can simply make a phone call, noting that discussions conducted by telephone could be just as effective. Trump added that the cancellation of the trip reportedly involving figures such as Witkoff and Kushner does not signal a return to war.
