UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that there is no military solution to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East after weeks of destruction and suffering. In a post on X, he called for the resumption of dialogue to reach an agreement and stressed that the ceasefire must be fully respected. Without directly naming Iran or the United States, he urged all parties to end violations and respect freedom of navigation, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, in line with international law. His remarks come after Iran and the United States agreed to a two-week ceasefire last week.
