In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavy rains and the collapse of house roofs and walls have killed 45 people and injured 105 others since March 25. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority, in its latest report, stated that the dead include 23 children, 17 men, and 5 women. According to the report, 442 houses were damaged in these incidents, of which 382 were partially damaged and 60 were completely destroyed. The incidents occurred in Peshawar, Bannu, Abbottabad, Mardan, Bajaur, Hangu, Mohmand, Kohat, North and South Waziristan, Khyber, Nowshera, Dera Ismail Khan, Kurram, and several other areas. The disaster management authority said that tents and food supplies have been sent to the affected areas, and an emergency has been declared in all districts to ensure timely assistance to victims. Officials have warned that another spell of heavy rains is forecast from April 6 to April 9. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during this period, especially to tourist areas.
