Taliban–Pakistan Talks Held in Urumqi with China’s Mediation

According to official Taliban sources, delegations from the Taliban and Pakistan are holding talks today, Wednesday, in the city of Urumqi, with China acting as mediator, to discuss a range of issues. The Taliban delegation is led by Mohibullah Wasiq, head of the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The delegation also includes the heads of foreign relations from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, and the General Directorate of Intelligence. The Pakistani delegation is headed by Mohammad Sadiq, the country’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, who is participating in the discussions. So far, no additional official statements have been released by either the Taliban or the government of Pakistan regarding the talks.
