U.S. President Donald Trump said that his country may end its military attacks against Iran within two to three weeks.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday, March 31, Trump said the United States will leave the war “soon,” and the process will likely be completed within this timeframe.
He added that ending the war does not necessarily depend on reaching an agreement with Iran, and Tehran will not be forced to accept a deal to stop the fighting.
The White House has announced that Trump will soon deliver an official speech to share the latest developments regarding Iran with the American people.
Meanwhile, U.S. officials had previously warned that if Tehran does not accept Washington’s proposed ceasefire plan, military operations could intensify.
At the same time, as the fighting continues, diplomatic efforts to end the war have increased, and some countries, including China and Pakistan, have called for an immediate ceasefire.
