Taliban officials say their forces have destroyed a Pakistani border post in Kunar province. Sediqullah Nasrat, deputy spokesperson for the Taliban Ministry of Defense, said in a statement on Tuesday that the post, located in the border areas of Dangam district, was targeted and demolished. According to him, Pakistani forces had been firing from the post into Afghan territory. Meanwhile, the Pakistani military has not confirmed the claim. A few days earlier, the Taliban also reported the destruction of another Pakistani post in Sarkano district of Kunar, stating that it was completely destroyed with explosives. In recent months, both sides have repeatedly accused each other of targeting border posts. Following the end of a temporary ceasefire, clashes in the border areas of eastern Afghanistan have intensified.
