The Israeli parliament, the Knesset, has passed a law that allows the execution of Palestinians under certain conditions in its second and third readings. A total of 62 members, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, voted in favor of the law. According to Al Jazeera, under this law, military courts will be allowed to issue death sentences to Palestinians convicted of killing Israelis. The law is expected to come into effect within the next 30 days. However, the decision by the Israeli parliament has sparked widespread reactions. Amnesty International has described the move as discriminatory against Palestinians and warned that it could further strengthen an apartheid system. At the same time, protests are being planned in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, in response to the approval of the law.
