Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that no direct talks have taken place between Tehran and the United States since the last round of negotiations. Baghaei said on Monday that all U.S. messages expressing willingness to negotiate have been conveyed to Iran only through intermediaries. Referring to the so-called “15-point project,” he said the demands presented were “beyond diplomatic principles” and “excessive.” The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that, contrary to what he described as “hesitation in decision-making” by the other side, Iran’s position has remained “clear and firm.” Regarding meetings held in Pakistan, he said Iran did not participate in those meetings and that their framework had been determined by the organizers. Baghaei also criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency, stating that the agency should condemn violations but has so far taken no effective action. According to him, Iran has fulfilled its commitments, but its demands have remained unanswered.
