US President Donald Trump has announced that a planned attack on Iran’s power plants has been postponed for 10 days at the request of the Iranian government. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the operation had been delayed until 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, April 6, and that negotiations between the two countries were still ongoing. He stressed that the talks were “good and constructive” and progressing positively, contrary to some media reports. Earlier, Trump had given Iran a 48-hour deadline to ensure the Strait of Hormuz remained open without threats, warning that otherwise Iran’s power plants would be targeted. In response, Iran warned that if its energy infrastructure were attacked, it would target Israel’s power facilities and certain oil installations in the region. The latest delay comes after several days of negotiations and a request from Iran to postpone the operation.
