Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, accompanied by his wife Latifa al-Droubi, met with a number of Syrian women in Damascus on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and Mother’s Day. During the meeting, the role, status, and value of women in society were praised, and respect was expressed to them in honor of the occasions. Meanwhile, the situation of women in Afghanistan is still considered a matter of serious concern. Reports indicate that the Taliban have deprived women of education, work, and many fundamental rights. International organizations, particularly the United Nations, have repeatedly warned that Afghanistan is facing a crisis of serious human rights violations.
