Taliban Threaten Kabul University Professors with Dismissal Over Beards

Sources report that the Taliban have threatened several professors at Kabul University with mass dismissal for not having beards in accordance with the group’s requirements. According to sources, the warning was issued on the evening of Wednesday, March 17, during an official gathering, where professors were instructed to adjust their beards to meet the Taliban’s standards within one month. Sources further state that the professors were warned that if they do not alter their hair and beards before the Eid holiday, they will be removed from their positions. The professors were told that failure to comply with this directive would result in their being referred to the Taliban’s intelligence services as “rebels” after the holiday. According to sources, the warning was repeated multiple times during the same gathering.
