Renewed criticism has emerged against Donald Trump following the resignation of a senior counterterrorism official earlier this month. According to reports, a former official identified as Kent—who has extensive experience from the Iraq War—stated that Iran posed “no threat” to the United States. He further claimed that any military action against Iran was influenced by pressure from Israel. In response, U.S. Senator McGuron strongly criticized Trump, accusing him of dishonesty and saying: “Trump lied and got American soldiers killed.” Kent also emphasized his personal opposition to further military involvement, noting that he does not want more U.S. troops sent into conflicts that do not serve American interests. He referenced personal loss, including his wife, who was killed during the Syrian Civil War. Kent’s remarks have drawn sharp backlash from members of the Republican Party, who accused him of making anti-Jewish statements.
