Pakistan’s Information Minister Ataullah Tarar says that nearly 700 Taliban members have been killed since clashes began between Pakistani forces and the group. Tarar wrote on his account on X on Sunday (March 24) that at least 684 Taliban members have been killed and more than 900 others wounded since the start of the fighting. According to him, Pakistani forces have also destroyed or captured more than 300 Taliban positions. The minister added that since the beginning of the clashes, more than 70 locations linked to what he described as “terrorists and their supporting infrastructure” have been targeted in various parts of Afghanistan. Referring to airstrikes carried out the previous night in Kandahar, Tarar said: “Technical support infrastructure and equipment depots in Kandahar, which were used by the Taliban and terrorists against Pakistani citizens, have been destroyed.” Tarar also once again rejected reports that civilians were targeted in Pakistan’s attacks, describing such claims as fake.
