Asif Ali Zardari has said that the Taliban government has “crossed a red line” by launching what he described as low-altitude drone attacks against Pakistan. According to Agence France-Presse on Saturday, Zardari said the drones launched from Afghanistan were intercepted before reaching military installations in Islamabad. The Pakistani military claimed that debris from the intercepted drones injured three civilians, including two children, in the cities of Quetta, Kohat, and Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan said it had targeted a Pakistani military facility known as Camp Hamza in the Fayzabad area of Islamabad on Friday evening. Following the incident, Pakistani media also reported a temporary suspension of operations at Islamabad International Airport. The Taliban defense ministry further stated that on Saturday morning its forces captured a Pakistani military post across the border opposite Kunar Province and Nangarhar Province, claiming that 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the operation.
