The Taliban Ministry of Defense has claimed that its forces killed 14 Pakistani soldiers in response to recent Pakistani airstrikes. According to the Taliban, the attacks targeted border areas in the provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar, leaving 11 additional Pakistani soldiers wounded. The group also stated that its fighters captured a Pakistani military checkpoint during the clashes. The Pakistani military has confirmed that Taliban forces carried out drone attacks on parts of Pakistani territory. Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, had earlier condemned the Taliban’s drone strikes. These developments come after Pakistan conducted early Friday airstrikes on targets in the Afghan provinces of Kabul, Kandahar, Paktika, and Paktia. According to reports, six people were killed as a result of those strikes.
