The United States has issued a temporary 30-day license allowing the sale of Russian oil that had already been loaded onto tankers at sea but remained unsold due to sanctions. Scott Bessent said the move is intended to help stabilize the energy market, which has faced volatility after oil prices rose to more than $100 per barrel. He noted that the license is short-term and is not expected to provide any significant financial benefit to Moscow. Under the decision, countries will be temporarily allowed to purchase Russian crude oil and petroleum products that had already been loaded onto tankers before but were left stranded at sea because of sanctions.
