The United States Central Command announced that a Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker has gone missing in the airspace over western Iraq. CENTCOM said in a post on X late Thursday, March 12, that the incident occurred during the operation “Epic Wrath” against Iran, adding that search and rescue efforts are ongoing. According to CENTCOM, two aircraft were involved in the operation. One has disappeared, while the second aircraft managed to make an emergency landing. The command stressed that the incident was not caused by enemy fire, and the exact cause is still under investigation. The development comes as tensions continue to rise in the Middle East, where the United States has launched extensive military operations against Iran.
