Hamdullah Fitrat says at least four members of a family were killed and three others injured after Pakistani forces carried out artillery attacks in the Alishero–Terezio District of Khost Province. Fitrat said the shelling occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday in the village of Sadqo Village, where residential houses were struck. The victims reportedly include women and children. He added that Pakistani artillery also fired on border areas of Kunar Province at the same time. No casualties were reported there, although one residential house was destroyed. Pakistani officials have not yet commented on the incident. The clashes between the Taliban and Pakistani forces have been ongoing for the past 16 days. The United Nations has reported that 56 civilians were killed between February 26 and March 5. Both sides claim to have inflicted heavy casualties on each other. The Taliban say 327 Pakistani soldiers have been killed, while Pakistan claims that more than 580 Taliban members have died in the fighting.
