Pakistani media, citing security sources, reported that forces of the Taliban and Pakistani border guards have once again clashed in border areas of Torkham Border Crossing. According to the reports published on Thursday, both sides used light and heavy weapons during the confrontation. So far, no details have been released about possible casualties or the extent of damage. Neither the Taliban nor Pakistani officials have issued an official statement regarding the incident. Border clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistani troops have continued in recent weeks. Earlier, Islamabad announced that more than 600 Taliban members had been killed following attacks on several locations. This comes as around 150 shops in the Torkham township caught fire during Pakistani military strikes three days ago, with one market reportedly destroyed completely.
