The final of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be played between India and New Zealand on Sunday, March 8. This marks the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup that the host nation has reached the final of the tournament. So far, ten editions of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup have been held. New Zealand has never won the title, while India has claimed the T20 World Cup twice. The 2026 T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand is scheduled to take place on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. local time in India. India secured its place in the final after defeating England by seven runs in the second semi-final. The Indian team became the second side, after New Zealand, to reach the final of the ongoing tournament. Eight teams had advanced to the Super Eight stage of the 2026 tournament: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, the West Indies, South Africa, England, and Zimbabwe. From those teams, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and England progressed to the semi-finals. Afghanistan also participated in the tournament but failed to advance beyond the group stage after recording two wins and two defeats.
