The United Nations has reported that more than 100,000 people have been displaced from their homes following a week of fighting in the latest clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan. At the same time, the defense ministry of the Taliban said its forces carried out retaliatory attacks on 24 Pakistani military positions along the disputed Durand Line. According to the ministry, 14 Pakistani outposts were destroyed and an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) was also shot down. Meanwhile, Pakistani sources claimed that airstrikes had been conducted in several areas, including Kandahar. Residents in the region say the clashes often begin after evening prayers and the breaking of the Ramadan fast, with civilian homes frequently being hit during the fighting. The United Nations said that around 115,000 people in Afghanistan and about 3,000 people in Pakistan have been forced to leave their homes due to the conflict.
